about me

My sewing adventures started many years ago in the basement of my childhood home where I would rummage through my mother’s fabric scraps and find enough snippets of material to design and hand stitch my Barbie dolls some really great outfits!

I’ve come a long way since my doll clothes designing days and with those passing years, I have gained a lot of knowledge in the craft of sewing.  Two really important things that I have come to realize is that there is more than one way to accomplish the same task and the more I learn, the more I realize there is to learn!

There are many reasons I love to sew.  Sewing is truly my yoga – I crave the calm serenity that my studio fills me with.   The colors of the walls relax me, the hum of my machines soothes me and the texture and color of fabric fills me with a balanced, harmonious energy.

Sewing for me is like artwork.  Every pattern is interpreted very differently depending on the set of eyes looking at it.  Changes to the fabric type, color, pattern ease and design elements can create something unique and very personal to each individual creating it.  That’s what I love most about being able to sew my own clothes and gifts…my ability to create something special and distinct from the last with simple changes and minor tweaks.

My goal in life is not only to improve and advance my knowledge in this wonderful art form but to continue to express myself through the creation of unique gifts that people will be proud to give to their loved ones.
